Care Shower Games
Games at baby and wedding showers help strangers get to know each other, help surface and laugh at worries, and enable guests to focus their love and support on the honoree. We did research on all the most popular games played at both baby and wedding showers and adapted them for Care Showers. We also made up a few new ones inspired by stories and experiences of caregiving over the years.
We began the first Care Shower with a game of “Spill the Pills” - a game unique to Care Showers.
At their place setting, each guest found a plastic weekly pill organizer and a box of multi-colored Tic Tacs. We gave the following instructions:
1) Open up the weekly pill organizer.
2) Dump out all the Tic Tacs in front of you.
3) When we so “GO!” put 4 Tic Tacs of the same color into a weekly spot in the organizer.
4) The trick is, you can’t have the same color next to each other.
5) When you are done, close the tops tightly!
6) Hold up your organizer in the air and yell “Azithromyicin!”
7) We’ll award prizes to the first two finishers!
Note: we placed small cards with the word Azithromyicin on them on the tables so guests could refer to it for pronunciation.
Note 2: Azithromyicin is one of the top five prescribed pills for older adults.
